Yvette Ramsey
Yvette is a Senior Social Worker and Behaviour Support Practitioner with 11+ years of Post-Graduate experience working with children, youth, adults and older adults in a diverse range of settings such as Aged Care, Judicial System, Forensic Mental Health and the Disability Sector.
Prior to studying Social Work, Yvette had a background in Medical Research having worked for the Liggins Institute at Auckland University researching neonatal brain damage. This background equips her with a solid understanding of neurodevelopmental and physiological factors affecting an individuals functional capacity.
Yvette's comprehensive experience as a Social Worker specialising in Psychosocial disabilities, Needs Assessments and Service Coordination for Older Adults as well as Treatment Assessments for rehabilitating offenders, shows an adeptness in conducting assessments and providing tailored interventions. Yvette's facilitation of rehabilitation therapy groups for offenders highlights her ability to work with diverse populations and engage them in activities that promote functional improvement. With a unique blend of scientific research experience and hands-on practice in Social Work, Yvette provides a holistic and person-centred approach to Social Work. As a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner, she also develops and implements Behaviour Support Plans that promote wellbeing, dignity and the rights of the person.
Accreditation
Yvette is a NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioner and a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). She holds a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions. Yvette has also completed Pearson Level B training, qualifying her to administer standardised assessments such as the Vineland-3 and ABAS-3. In addition, she is an accredited ICAN-v6 Assessor and is a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. These qualifications support her practice in delivering comprehensive, person-centred assessments and behaviour support that are evidence-based and tailored to individual needs.
